Mahavatar Babaji and Swami Vishwananda

"I am Babaji, one devoted to the progression of Earth incarnations into light, into freedom, into everlasting Love Divine. Attune your vibration to mine and you will know me, and you will know that you and I are one in Divine Love for ever and ever." - Babaji

Mahavatar Babaji

baba2.jpgWHO IS MAHAVATAR BABAJI? Mahavatar Babaji is the source of the Atma Kriya teachings and the inspiration behind the Atma Kriya Institute together with Swami Vishwananda. He is also the source of the Shaktipath or direct energy transference that is given to all Atma Kriya students in order to activate their chakras, heal the body and provide the initiating spark for the Atma Kriya practice to be successful.

Mahavatar Babaji first came to the attention of the West in Paramahansa Yogananda’s renowned book “Autobiography of a Yogi”. Babaji is a Great Avatar, whose interest is in the long-term spiritual evolution of our planet. Most Avatars appear in the world at very specific times and depart once their work is complete. A Mahavatar like Babaji remains in the background, mostly in obscurity, and takes a much longer-term interest in humanity’s spiritual progress, spanning into many generations.

Mahavatar Babaji is not a public figure. For such a great Being who is supreme among Saints and Sages, He has taken the simplest of names, Babaji, which simply means revered father. His nature is unparalleled. He is beyond time and space, constantly blessing humanity with waves of Peace and Love. He has assisted Prophets in carrying out their work and He is an enormous influence in the field of spirituality. And yet those who know of Him speak of His simplicity, deep humility and His language of silence. For it is in silence that everything can be understood.

Mahavatar Babaji represents Unity. He has always played a role in creating a spiritual bridge between the East and West, between the positive aspects of our material life and spiritual life, between eastern mysticism and western science, between different religious beliefs and the science of yoga. He is aware of the need to spread the science of yoga equally to both the East and West.

Mahavatar Babaji is most well known in recent times for having given the sacred science and techniques of Kriya Yoga to His disciple Sri Lahiri Mahasaya. However, over the centuries Mahavatar Babaji has had many other close disciples, to whom he has taught other systems of yoga, including Jnana Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Dhyana Yoga, Raja Yoga, Tantra Yoga, Nada Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Mantra Yoga. The system of yoga taught by Him suited the times.

Mahavatar Babaji is now teaching Atma Kriya for our times. Mahavatar Babaji is here to help man realize his true identity, the Self or Atman. One can best serve and connect with Him through Sadhana, self-surrender (of the ego) and selfless service. Where there is love, there is Babaji and it is through love that we will transform this world.

Swami Vishwananda

Swami white.jpgSwami Vishwananda was born into a Hindu family on the island of Mauritius on the 13 June, 1978. His Guru, Mahavatar Babaji first appeared to him when he was 4 years old. He began experiencing Samadhi, a deep meditative state of absorption with the Divine at a very early age. From early childhood he immersed himself in spirituality and lived with a constant awareness of the presence of the Divine. After finishing school, he completely dedicated himself to his spiritual calling.

At the request of Mahavatar Babaji, Swami Vishwananda set-up the Atma Kriya Institute and began to teach Atma Kriya. These yoga techniques were given to him by Mahavatar Babaji. Atma Kriya consists of simple and effective practices that allow us to discover the unconditional love inside ourselves – our true identity – our Atma.

Swamiji says: “Through the practise of Atma Kriya, you will open up more and this will help you to love more, to love without judging. What I want for you is to achieve the finest and purest form of love, which is deep within your heart. You will realize that love can grow and love can become Divine. The same way God loves is the same way humans can learn to love.

Swami Vishwananda lives in Germany where many spiritual seekers come to him from around the globe seeking his advice and blessings. He embraces all religions and cultures. He patiently explains how we can improve the way we think and live. He inspires people to be more loving and to support those in need, materially, mentally and spiritually. He encourages us to believe in ourselves and to love others. He serves as an example for how simple, joyful and fulfilled our lives can be. He is here to help others experience their fundamental Oneness with the Divine.
